At Anson Medical Practice, we provide a comprehensive range of general medical services to all ages. Our team of experienced doctors and nurses provide services including (but not limited to):

GENERAL MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS

As general practitioners, we’re here to provide you with continuing, comprehensive and coordinated health care. We are your first point of contact for any health concern. 

 

TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS

We are able to offer telehealth (phone) appointments to patients as an alternative to an in-person consultation, where medically appropriate. This service is available for current patients who have been seen in person within the preceding 12 months. Please inquire about our telehealth options with your regular GP if you have Covid symptoms or are housebound.

​CHILDREN’S HEALTH

Including routine health checks, childhood immunisations and management of acute or chronic childhood illnesses. We can offer priority appointments to children with acute illnesses such as fevers and rashes.

 

WOMEN’S HEALTH

Including cervical screening test (previously PAP test), contraceptive advice and treatment, implanon (insertion and removal), family planning, antenatal shared care, postnatal care and menopause advice.

 

MEN’S HEALTH

Routine health checks for men of all ages are encouraged. Hypertension, cholesterol, mental health and sexual health advice and treatment is also available.

 

AGED CARE

Including healthy-lifestyle checks such as blood pressure and cholesterol, and preventative care including skin checks. We recommend an annual health check for all patients aged 75 and over. This provides a structured way of identifying issues and conditions that are potentially preventable or may benefit from interventions in order to improve overall quality of life.

We can also assist with palliative care.

 

NURSING HOME VISITS

We attend all nursing homes in the Orange area to ensure continuance of care to all our loyal patients. We will continue care for our patients who are moving into residential aged care. This includes:

IMMUNISATIONS

We can assist with all childhood immunisations, adult immunisations and annual flu vaccines. Please ask reception to see if you’re eligible for free immunisations under the Nation Immunisation Program (NIP).  We also provide advice and vaccination services to suit your travel plans. Please check your requirements with us at least 8 weeks before your departure.

An annual flu vaccination is recommend for most of the community. We provide NIP free vaccinations to eligible patients.

HEALTH & MEDICAL ASSESSMENTS

We recommend 45-49 years and 75+years health checks. We also conduct medical examinations for special purposes, such as driving medicals, insurance, workers compensation and more. Please mention what you need when booking your appointment so we can allocate sufficient time with our Nurse and your GP. 

 

SKIN CHECKS & TREATMENTS

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners recommends a formal skin check every 12 months. Our doctors can perform skin checks and minor surgical procedures. Please mention you would like a skin check when booking your appointment so we can allocate sufficient time.

 

MINOR PROCEDURES

A well-equipped treatment room is available for wound treatments and minor surgical procedures under local anesthetic. This includes stitches, cryotherapy of warts and sunspots, insertion and removal of Implanon contraceptives and removal of some skin lesions, cyst and moles.​

 

MENTAL HEALTH 

Our GP's are here to discuss and help you with all your mental health concerns and can assist with diagnosis, treatment and referrals. 

 

ADDICTION ADVICE

Including quit smoking plans, drug and alcohol advice, management and counseling.

 

CHRONIC CONDITION MANAGEMENT

We offer comprehensive and coordinated chronic condition management (CCM), with an aim to prevent or delay progression and increase overall quality of life. We can develop a CCM plan to ensure the prevention of further health issues or decline in condition/s and, will communicate with your Health Care Team e.g., Allied Health and Specialists when required -  to improve your health.  

 

INJURIES & SPORTS MEDICINE

We can assist with musculoskeletal issues including diagnosis and rehabilitation. This includes sports medicine, diet, exercise and training advice.

 

DIABETES MANAGEMENT

Diabetes care plans including comprehensive assessment of diabetes severity and control, medication use, complications and management strategies.
